Unfortunately, technology has always been shown as more smarter than it is, not just in silicon valley, but even in hollywood movies. Look at all those heist movies, where the nerdy guy with the laptop "hacks" into many things with near perfect precision.

I was introduced to this 1000$+ latte machine that can draw custom foam figures on your coffee and this 100$ travel mug that can keep coffee at the "right" temperature you want.

Makes me sad to see these 1st world indulgences, when right across our borders, people are dying of hunger and poverty. Not to say that we can't indulge, but can VC and technology money be better used to serve the humanity than its exploitation and vanity.
