The Door of Disappointment

You wake up.

You meditate. Your mind takes u on a spin in making you seeing all things from the past and a few things that would occur in the future. Never would it let you see things in the present. Never would it let you see things as is.

Yet, you power on. The light guides you. It tells you to breathe slowly. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in, Breathe out. You focus on the breath and for a few seconds it works. Then, again, thoughts swirl around you, like vultures around the carcass. Like a spider thats weaving its web around an ignorant and inattentive insect. Are we bugs in the creation of God to be devoured by karma and to be engulfed by Maya?

The alarm beeps. You breathe a sigh of relief. You offer salutations to God and you open your eyes. Finally, you feel cheer. But, then, the day lies ahead and the computer beckons you. Yet, another day of meaningless dwelling while nature shows you the possibilities it gives.

A sparrow chirps near by your window. A crow caws around and a hummingbird hums along. All of them aren’t bored by routine. All of them don’t seem to worry about the path ahead. They seem to be content. Then, why does human brain yearn and hanker? Why does it compare? Why is it hell bent on opening doors of disappointment instead of keeping them shut?

You close your eyes and nudge yourself to sleep. You await a dreamland where you disappear into another realm. Another world. Were perhaps the doors open to delight instead of disappointment.
