In my opinion, federal government should focus on the minimal needs and get out of the social-safety business. It's best left to state governments, imo. All the left wants to do is follow the European model, but they forget that none of the European countries are the same size as US and ideally, if we want to adopt the European model, we should then let states decide for it.

State taxes can go up and federal taxes can go down. In such a model, we will start seeing people realizing that whether they want a big government model or a small government and the state races will get a lot more closer and not forgranted.

Newsom, Hochul and ilk will will be voted out, if such a model exists!
