Pretty sure, we pay taxes either ways.

I could take the dividend as cash. But then I’d pay tax and not maximize the assets I could buy. Instead, I use the dividend reinvestment feature.

Pretty sure, we pay taxes either ways. Compounding is the reason I reinvest so that those fractional shares you bought over time start generating dividends too and the cycle continues.
